Lenton Brae was established in 1982 so that makes them nearly 'old school' in the Margaret River context. Perhaps best known for its Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend, the core range has and still does represent great value across classic Margaret River styles.
Matured in new and seasoned French barriques for 16 months, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from exclusively Wilyabrup fruit of 40 year old vines. Formerly known as āLady Douglas Cabernet Sauvignonā, naming now simplified.
Pristine and classically Margaret River, continues a lineage of a wine which drinks well young with enough supple and silky fruit and tannins, though will also cellar beautifully. Blackberry and dark cherry on the nose, with a plush and intense spread of flavours on the palate ā more berry and cherry with dark chocolate, violets, blackcurrant and baking spice. Long and poised tannins to finish, excellent balance and plenty of hedonistic pleasure here.
