Mount Mary 'Marli Russell RP2' Grenache Shiraz 2024
70% Grenache, 30% Shiraz The 2024 RP2 opens with an exuberant and immediately appealing bouquet of fresh cherry, raspberry and plum, the bright primary fruit entwined with notes of liquorice, musk and an array of secondary spice.
On the palate the wine is light to medium bodied, focused and refreshing in character, with flavours of pomegranate and wild
strawberry giving way to darker, more brooding fruit nuances on the mid-palate. The tannins are soft and seamlessly integrated,
providing an elegant structural framework that speaks well to the wine's cellaring potential.
"A blend of 70/30% grenache/shiraz. The grenache is fully destemmed with whole berries, while the shiraz is fermented with 30% whole bunches. A light, bright crimson red. Very pretty aromas of freshly picked raspberry, rose petal and spice. Brightly fruited and energetic, with gently grippy tannins and bright acidity making this a delicious wine to drink now and over the next two to three years." 95 Points Philip Rich. Halliday Wine Companion.
